Deputy Head of Investment Management
Investing in the infrastructure of the energy transition — across Europe, Africa, and beyond.
Grace Kankindi is an investment executive operating at the intersection of capital, infrastructure, and the global energy transition. As Deputy Head of Investment at Aquila Clean Energy, she brings a decade of experience leading complex renewable energy transactions across global markets.
She has contributed to the development and investment of more than 7 GW of clean energy assets spanning solar PV, onshore wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Her recent transaction leadership includes over 1.3 GW of BESS investments in Italy, alongside diversified renewable platforms across Germany, Finland, Bulgaria, Belgium, Spain, and Greece.
Beyond origination and execution, Grace focuses on portfolio optimisation, strategic divestments, capital recycling, and firm-level investment strategy — driving disciplined capital allocation and long-term value creation.
Previously, she advised public and private sector stakeholders on infrastructure investments, market growth, and strategic partnerships for the Government of Rwanda, and worked in Tax Equity Investment at Sol Systems in the United States. She holds a Master's degree from Yale University and brings a global, multilingual, and multidisciplinary perspective to energy transition investing.
I speak on energy storage finance, merchant vs. tolling models, European market development, the bankability of BESS projects, and the convergence of AI infrastructure and energy.
Available for speaking engagements on BESS finance, European energy markets, and infrastructure investing.
Open to speaking invitations, investment conversations, and connecting with others building the energy transition. I am also actively exploring board positions in clean energy, infrastructure, and sustainability-focused organisations.
With a decade of experience at the intersection of development and institutional investment — across BESS, renewable energy, and global infrastructure — Grace brings a transaction-oriented, commercially grounded perspective to board-level governance. She is actively exploring advisory and non-executive board roles in clean energy, infrastructure, and impact-driven organisations.
